Script evaluation

“I worked with Toby to bring my non-fiction book, ALTERNATIVE WAR to the screen as a full-length feature adaptation. He brought a wealth of creative and industry experience, working seamlessly in the team to bring a conceptual summary to life as a complete treatment which has attracted significant interest, even in the early stages. Toby is the only professional to work with.”

The aim here is simple: to provide the means to make your script as compelling a piece of work as possible.

This is not something that happens in a vacuum. Your work will be considered not only in relation to genre and current trends, but also its saleability within the screenwriting market. The level of feedback is also completely flexible and is customisable to your budget and to needs of the work itself – nothing is off-the-peg. Anything from one-to-one verbal assessment to full, active input is available.

Script reports

A full, written report on your screenplay covering every key aspect – character, structure, theme, genre etc – as well as suggesting actions to take to strengthen the work.

Live feedback

A one-to-one meeting providing verbal feedback on a completed script, treatment or other work in progress. Can be via Zoom or in person (when permitting).

Editing and development

This involves more active input, making changes to your script as necessary and/or helping you to develop your idea to completion, whether an original concept or adaptation.

“We published Toby’s first novel, THE VIKING DEAD. This dropped full-on zombie action into a painstakingly recreated Viking setting, and when we were looking for someone to write a series of historical adventure novels turning the Robin Hood legends on their head, Toby seemed the perfect choice. He did not disappoint, developing a richly textured world packed with compelling characters, and creating a brilliantly structured story arc that brought the narrative threads together in ways few of us could have anticipated.”
